About Hjalteyri

Hjalteyri is a small village in western Eyjafjörður. Until the early 20^th century, Hjalteyri was among Iceland’s main hubs of the herring fishing industry. Today, the areas along Hjaltieyri is known to be some of the most interesting diving areas in the world.
